Tanya is an actress and co-artistic director of Meeting Ground Theatre Company with her partner playwright Stephen Lowe. National theatre appearances include: Glamour, Paradise, Touched, Demon Lovers, Crimes of Passion, Be My Baby and singing in Teeth like Razors with Cathy Le Surf/ Curt Glanz. After international performances with Sale of the Demonic Women and Plaisirs d’Amour (directed by Zofia Kalinska), she finally picked up pen to seek her own language. Falling Angels, Shoes, Small Waves and Promise to My Mother followed. Tanya calls these plays “rites of passage”. Her acting career includes films directed by Shane Meadows, Rob Green (The Trick – Paul Smith’s favourite short), Jim Loach (Oranges and Sunshine), Anton Corbijn (Control), Axelle Carolyn (new ghost film Soulmate) and Jon Sanders (Back to the Garden). Tanya has appeared frequently on TV favourites Coronation Street, Heartbeat, The Bill, Emmerdale, Silent Witness and, of course, Holby City and Casualty. Under the pseudonym of Juanita McMahon, she gets paid to read bestsellers! As a teenager she worked as an auxiliary nurse in a care home and has spent the last few years caring for her mother and mother in law (Pearl and Minnie).
Stephen has worked as actor, director, and artistic director as well as playwright. He is the ex-chair of Arts Council England – East England and in 2011 received an honorary doctorate from the University of Nottingham for services to the arts. His plays have been premiered at London’s Royal Court, RSC, as well as main repertory theatres and, in his hometown, the Nottingham Playhouse and Lakeside. His awards include the John Whiting Award and George Devine Award, and his plays have been re-staged from Vancouver to New York, New Mexico to Cape Town to Perth and onto Auckland. His TV/film work includes his BBC1 adaptation of Stendhal’s Scarlet and Black, starring Ewan McGregor, and almost a hundred episodes of Coronation Street. He is married to the actress/playwright Tanya Myers. In 2012 he received an honorary doctorate (Nottingham University) for service to the arts.
Nettie is a theatre designer with 30 years’ experience in animating a variety of performance spaces. She specialises in developing performance text through collaborative processes and in creating new writing for young people. Current design work includes Shiny (Turned on its Head 2013-15), One Finger One Thumb (Big Window 2015), and A Crack in Time (Dragon Breath 2015). Recent work includes Inside Out of Mind (Lakeside Arts Centre 2013), Grandpa in My Pocket (Nottingham Playhouse 2013), Dream Play (Big Window 2012). Nettie is Joint Artistic Director of Dragon Breath Theatre, whose recent work for young people includes Gulliver’s Travels (2011-12), Cosmos (2008-9), The Icarus Project (2006-7), and Dragon Breath (2003-4). Her work for Dragon Breath was exhibited at the Collaborators: UK Design for Performance 2003-2007 exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum in 2007-2008. The company’s performance and education work has been shortlisted for many prizes and disseminated internationally. Nettie was a Senior Lecturer in Theatre Design at Nottingham Trent University until 2009. Nettie represented the UK at the Prague Quadrennial in 1999 with Best of Friends by Fiona Graham.

Barret Hodgson is a video artist and digital projection specialist based in Nottingham. His company Vent Media creates and stages visual media for live performance including theatre, dance and music, art installations, interactive media projects, film production & high end projection.

Following graduation, David formed Isthmus Productions as producer/director. Films include documentary shot in war-torn Nicaragua (Nicaragua: A Question of Democracy) and music documentary Walls Come Tumbling Down. Work as editor includes BBC’s The Car’s the Star, an offshoot of Top Gear, and Shane Meadows’s films Smalltime and Shane’s World. Work as composer includes Channel 4’s Magic Hour (directed by Frank Abbott) and BBC2’s Macbeth on the Estate (directed by Penny Woolcock). David has been a member of Meeting Ground since 1990. Theatre composition includes the musical Paradise, in collaboration with Stephen Lowe, for Nottingham Playhouse and Changing Fashion, currently in development.

Tom has been working in the theatre industry since 2004 within a wide range of venues and in a variety of roles. Tom now primarily works as a Lighting Designer around the UK.

Sean has been a practising puppeteer for as long as he can remember. His work encompasses traditional and contemporary puppetry with a research interest in performing objects.
Sean is currently a Senior Lecturer in theatre design at Nottingham Trent University, where he graduated in 1987.
He was awarded the Arts Council and John Wright Bursary in 1989 and used it to further his development as a puppeteer, studying and working with great masters such as Barry Smith, Peter Schumann, and Philippe Genty, as a puppeteer, via the traditional method of master and pupil.
He freelances as consultant and puppeteer, and has presented at the Wellcome Trust, the Suspense Festival London, and international puppet festivals. He also worked on the Opening Ceremony (as Puppet Captain) for the 2012 Olympics, and more recently as consultant and performer on Kate Bush’s Before the Dawn show in 2014.
Published articles include: Theatre Materials: What is Theatre Made Of? and Object Theatre: A Developing Network (Puppet Notebook, Issue 22).
Bisera Winters trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Moscow Arts Theatre and Living Pictures. As an actress she has worked at the National Theatre Studio, Southwark Playhouse and the Albany Theatre. Recent directing projects include: 3000 Realms (collaboration with Liz Ranken – Associate Artist RSC) and a rehearsed reading of The Maids by Martin Crimp. Bisera is currently developing a new play by Daniel Moore – Six Iron at Sundown and is a member of the Young Vic Directors programme.
Having begun his theatre career at Nottingham Playhouse, Bungo went on to become technical manager at the then new Lakeside Arts Centre now Nottingham Lakeside Arts, where he stayed until 2005. Following a number of freelance technical and stage managerial roles with companies as diverse as Station House Opera, Theatre Rites, The Insect Circus, and Feral Theatre, he then spent three years as Deputy Head of Stage at Chichester Festival Theatre. Having now run away to the wilds of West Wales, he enjoys spending time with his family and working freelance again.
Patricia studied stage management at Mountview Academy.
Her theatre credits include Birmingham Rep (Three Sisters, Rudy’s Rare Records and The BFG), Royal Shakespeare Company (Julius Caesar directed by Greg Doran), Kneehigh (Brief Encounter directed by Emma Rice), Fingersmiths (Frozen directed by Jeni Draper) and West Yorkshire Playhouse.
Her work has taken her to Moscow, Athens, Sweden, Toronto and various parts of America to name but a few.
She is delighted to be working on Inside out of mind.

Previous stage management work includes Flat Stanley, Two Little Boys, Red Riding Hood, Oleanna and Bomber’s Moon (all Lakeside Arts Centre for Engine House Theatre) and A Christmas Carol (Lakeside Arts Centre). She has toured both nationally and internationally with a variety of theatre companies, including Theatre Rites, M6 Theatre Company and Zoo Indigo. She has also worked as lighting designer for a number of Lakeside Arts Centre productions, and most recently undertaken the relighting of Bomber’s Moon for Engine House Theatre at the Park Theatre, Finsbury Park.
