Short Film – The Red Door

During lockdown, Stephen Lowe wrote a poem called The Red Door about isolation for the old. Commissioned by Lakeside Arts in June 2020, Tanya Myers wrote a short film script to incorporate Stephen’s poem and neighbourly participation. The Red Door is about a recluse reconnecting with the beauty of Being.

Filmed on a basic mobile phone, it became a firm Favourite of Lakeside Nottstopping Festival. Watch The Red Door on YouTube.

Kindred Spirits: Theatre for the Over 60’s

In November 2019, Tanya Myers and Stephen Lowe were asked by ArtSpeak to trial a Theatre Collective to explore the joys of exploring theatre language with elder folk, with and without past theatre knowledge. When Covid struck, our group decided to continue and developed inclusive ways to continue improvising, developing a regular Thursday Email Meeting of responses to weekly creative missives. This work continues and is looking to develop into a Virtual Diary, Film Script and Documentary.
